Kahului, HI

Kahului is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County in the U.S. state of Hawaii. It hosts the county's main airport (Kahului Airport), deep-draft harbor, light industrial areas, and commercial shopping centers. The population was 26,337 at the 2010 census. Kahului is part of the Kahului-Wailuku-Lahaina Metropolitan Statistical Area which includes nearby Wailuku and the town and former whaling village of Lahaina.

In the CDP, there were 20,146 residents, 5,880 households, and 4,421 families as of the 2000 Census. There were 1,328.7 people per square mile (513.0/km2) in the area. At an average density of 400.9 per square mile (154.8/km2), there were 6,079 dwelling units. The CDP had a 10.06% White population, 0.24% Black or African American population, 0.27% Native American population, 53.62% Asian population, 9.91% Pacific Islander population, 1.47% from other races, and 24.42% from two or more races. There were 8.75% Hispanic or Latino people overall.
