I plan to sell my Saturn L300 as soon as the new car I purchased arrives from the mainland. Unfortunately, I began smelling oil, which worsened over the course of a few weeks. Of course, I didn't want to keep driving my Saturn and cause a worse problem and I also don't want to put more money into it, so I searched online for a repair shop with good reviews and I found very positive reviews for A-1. I called on a Friday afternoon in late August and spoke with Bubba, one of the owners, who patiently answered my questions and advised me that there would be no charge for looking at the car as long as they didn't need to take anything apart. That's exactly what I wanted to hear!

The following Tuesday, I arrived at A-1 at 8:15 a.m. so I could be the first one on the schedule. Even though they don't open until 8:30, an employee still walked me inside right away after seeing me sitting in my car, introduced me to other employees along the way, and finally into the office where Bubba sat behind a desk. While I waited, I saw 2 mechanics under my lifted car checking it out. Then, much to my surprise, Bubba also inspected my car. Within 45 minutes of my arrival at A-1, Bubba called me over to the lifted car and proceeded to SHOW me what they'd found as he and I stood under the vehicle (never had that happen before and I've had a lot of auto repairs done elsewhere).

Besides the friendly, family atmosphere and impressive professionalism, I was most impressed by A-1's honesty. After determining the source of the slow oil leak and approximate $700 repair cost, Bubba suggested I NOT repair the vehicle since it's a minor issue but a major repair (because of the location of the leak) and the fact I'll be selling the car. They had tightened some bolts that were loose under the carriage and causing some other type of fluid to leak. I asked a lot of questions and he thoroughly answered them all, as if I was his only customer of the day. Based on our conversation, he suggested I have my tires rotated at a cost of $20 since I was way overdue. And that's all I spent that day. Not bad!

Lastly, just before my tires were rotated, I mentioned to Bubba that I'd had a multi-point inspection done at Saturn and they determined several expensive repairs were needed, including back brakes, alignment, rack and pinion, etc. Bubba checked those things without my asking him to--for free--test drove the car and disagreed with Saturn's multi-point inspection and need for repairs.

If you want an honest mechanic, this is where you need to go. I will definitely be back if I ever have car problems."
