100 reviews of Kimo's Rent-A-Car "I was first introduced to Kimo's Rentacar through my brother, who rented me a car from this company for my birthday last month.
Fast forward: My parents car here in Maui broke down, and my mom needed a car for her job, and I figured, why not try this place again, prices were reasonable, so we called them up they said they had cars available, and so down to Kahului we went.
Price for that car came out to $177 for one week (including tax and insurance). Granted, the car wasn't the most beautiful thing to grace the streets of maui, but it'll do. Driving across the street I noticed a strong pull to the right, so I took it right back to Kimo's, and Bobby (the main guy who works there) said no problem, and gave me another car with no hassle. That one was much better. The following week we returned the car.
Well ended up, the next day we decided to go back and get ANOTHER one, and as usual, Bobby was very sweet, had me do my paperwork, this time charging me $166, and giving me a really cute, new looking Honda Accord which runs really good, and looks good too.
Overall I would recommend this place. If you're an uninsured driver, you can get a car here for no extra price (like me). Prices are really the cheapest I've found, Kimo and Bobby are really nice, helpful guys. Most of the cars aren't pretty, but they run good for the most part (Bobby is the mechanic) and they get you where you need to be. It's good to support local business. If you're a tourist who wants to look semi-local so you don't get harassed on the road to Hana, go here. Hahaha. If you're a local who's car broke down and you're in desperate need of wheels, call up and ask if they have cars available, they usually do on the same day, but at worst you'll have to wait one more day. Very convienently located, right behind minute stop on Alamaha, if you blink you'll miss it, but it's there.
Next time I'm on Maui I will definitely be back here."
