Hailing from the east coast, Peter has been a Maui resident and tour guide since the fall of 2002. Originally from western Maryland, he grew up in the Appalachian Mountains as an avid hiker, climber, and skier. He went to the Atlantic Ocean frequently growing up. Peter has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, Africa, and of course the United States. His love of the ocean first drew him to Maui where he learned to surf and scuba dive
leading tours and teaching others was the natural progression from there.

Peter has worked and lead tours on Maui for South Pacific Kayaks and Outfitters, Kelii?s Kayaks, Maui Kayaks, Maui Eco Tours, Private Kayak Tours, and the Four Seasons Resort. He is also a P.A.D.I. certified SCUBA Instructor and EFR/First Aid Instructor
he has been teaching and certifying people on Maui for three years. His love of the ocean, vast knowledge of the area, and quick humor all make for an unforgettable, educational experience for the first time visitor or local resident alike!

Griff grew up in the foothills of South Carolina where, at a very young age, cultivated an enthusiasm and appreciation for the outdoors. Griff honed his water skills sailing, kayaking, fishing, and water skiing at a small lake in the NC mountains. After graduating from Coastal Carolina University with a BA in Marketing, Griff followed his passion for educating others about the environment. Griff spent 7 summers as a guide for Moondance Adventures, a 21 day wilderness program for high school students. Griff spent his springs and falls in New England as the Program Director for The Environmental Schools, a non-profit 5 day residential ecology school for middle schoolers. This left winters for traveling the globe.

After a trip to West Africa in 2001 Griff contracted malaria and nearly died. Facing mortality at such a young age, Griff grabbed his backpack, 2 surf boards, and curiosity and moved to Maui. He immediately felt ?at home?. Griff loves sharing his knowledge and passion for Hawaiian ecology and her culture with every lucky guest on his trips. Why don?t you book a tour today and experience first hand green paddling on blue water!
